We are always grateful to God to be granted the opportunity  of being a blessing to the less privileged. Our heartfelt thanks goes to all volunteers and donors in cash and kind.

Preparations for the mission trips are always quite exhausting and time consuming, but thanks to faithful Friends of Destiny Transformers who make the workload less laborious. We all engage in sorting out books and clothing which are later airfreighted to the various Charitable organisations and schools. We are immensely grateful to you all.

In partnership with AMA World Outreach, founded by Psts Rita and Akin Akindejoye,Destiny Transformers reached out to children in Epe village,Itoikin village and  neighbouring villages.

Children were taught how to brush their teeth and maintain very good oral care. They were also taught the implications of not looking after their teeth. In addition to promoting awareness of good oral care, they were very excited to have goody bags including toothbrushes, toothpaste and a good meal which is a rarity for most of these children.

Clothing materials were distributed and families received these with joy.

The next leg of the trip was a tough and rugged journey to Hebron Foundation(free) Private School in another village -Elere .The great need in this village School was brought to us by a Sister Charity-Deborah Tree founded by Mrs Deborah Akinlade .

Destiny Transformers donated Encyclopaedia, as there is no internet for research, reading books ,dictionaries and writing materials to the school’s library which barely had good reading books.

Reading as we know is fundamental to children if they are to understand English and other related subjects which is the medium of communicating learning in other areas of the curriculum;while it also lends itself to good writing.I was able to give some training to staff on how to work with the reading books effectively.

The founder of this free School -Mrs Titilayo Oni, was moved by the despicable state of schools in this part of Western Nigeria and decided to do something about it.Her response to solving the problem was to provide the children in this remote village with quality education like in the city.Providing such education is not cheap and that is why Destiny Transformers had to contribute to ease the burden, which She and the staff highly appreciated.

Going through the classes, the children were very courteous and very excited when they learnt that they will now be able to have books in the library.

Looking around the classes, they were over crowded and vertically grouped due to limited classrooms and staff. The Head teacher and staff are making the best use of resources available at the moment.

The Founder, Mrs Titilayo Oni expressed her fear that the children may not be able to further their education after primary school as their parents were very poor. She pleaded with me to inform the Destiny Transformers team about the proposed plan to provide vocational education .She said the purposed Vocational slant was to equip children with skills which would be useful to them immediately for survival ,even if they are unable to proceed in further education.

It was heart breaking to leave them behind not knowing what the fate of these children would be.

Final stop was in my hometown over Benin City, about 300 km from Elere village and children here were also encouraged to maintain regular oral care.

Some orphanages and local community churches and non christian organisations were visited. They also benefited from Destiny Transformers as they also received cash, shoes and clothing materials.
